Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Third Shift (11 pm – 7 am) Detox & Residential Facility 
Location:   Community Healing Center – Gilmore, Kalamazoo, MI
Job Type:   Full-Time
Schedule: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Weekdays and/or Weekends, 8 hour shifts)
Pay Rate: $28 – $30 per hour plus overnight and weekend incentives

Job Summary:  Community Healing Center – Gilmore is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide overnight medical care in our detox and residential treatment facility.  This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and comfort of individuals undergoing detoxification and substance use treatment during third shift hours.Responsibilities: 

  • Embrace, support, and implement Community Healing Center’s vision and values related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
  • Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration and monitoring, to clients in detox and residential programs.
  • Conduct routine health assessments, document observations, and report concerns to the RN or Nurse Practitioner as needed.
  • Monitor withdrawal symptoms and implement appropriate nursing interventions per protocol.
  • Respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies, providing first aid or coordinating higher-level care when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Ensure compliance with medication management protocols, including controlled substances.
  • Educate clients on medications, health concerns, and treatment expectations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including RN’s physicians, behavioral health staff, and case managers.
  • Conduct safety checks and ensure a secure, supportive environment for clients.
  • Assist with intake procedures, including health screenings, vital signs, and initial assessments.
  • Provide compassionate support to clients experiencing withdrawal symptoms.
  • Adhere to all facility policies, procedures and regulatory standards (HIPAA, OSHA, and state licensing requirements).
Qualifications:
  • Current and unrestricted LPN license in the State of Michigan.
  • Experience in detox, substance use treatment, or mental health preferred.
  • Ability to work independently on overnight shifts while collaborating with on-call staff as needed.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to respond effectively to medical or behavioral crisis.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) for documentation.
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Knowledge of addiction treatment, withdrawal management, and medication assisted treatment (MAT) preferred.
  • Covid and Influenza vaccines, required.
